About the teacher.

Hello. My name is Ben Mars. I started The Scene Space to give actors a chance to keep their acting muscles strong by doing ‘proper actor’ work. Workshops take place regularly and you can attend as many or as few times as you like.

It’s a supportive workshop. The maximum number of attendees is 8 so there’s plenty of time and space. You can expect to be directed and encouraged.

My ambition for the class is that it’s a place to safely work your craft. And a reminder that acting is, ultimately, incredibly good fun. Sometimes it’s profound. It’s the most amazing thing to see an actor surprise themself.

Over the years I’ve worked on shows from TED LASSO to CORONATION STREET and in theatre from THE OLD VIC to the SOUTHWARK PLAYHOUSE. I’ve directed plays and written sketches. Sometimes I’ve been unemployed and wondered what to do. This workshop, whether you’re busy or not, is what to do.
